Brief description
Brief description
This is a broad full-stack role for a YC-backed company building tooling for product onboarding (things like signup flows and new-user tutorials). Like many startups, they're working with recent AI tools, but in a narrow and well-defined domain - this is definitely not a "GPT wrapper" sort of company.
Personality-wise, they're offering (and looking for) fairly typical startup traits. They're low-structure, fast-moving, and high-growth potential. They're looking for people who will do whatever needs doing rather than waiting for a ticket, who can ship things quickly, and who are interested in putting their work and growth first during their time there.
This role is in-office in San Francisco; the current expectation is 3 days/week in-office, which may become 4 later on. (They do intend to keep one day a week of WFH for the foreseeable future, though.) They use a typical Node/Next/React Typescript stack, with the usual infra behind it.
(This role -may- be open to people who tilt more back-end, but the strong preference is for people who are comfortable with substantial amounts of both back- and front-end work.)
What they're looking for
[Required]
"Seniorness". The operational definition here is "you need to be able to come in and handle complex tasks unsupervised."
We put 3 years on the posting as an arbitrary number to set expectations, but this company is bought in on the idea of giving bright people without traditional backgrounds a shot.
Familiar with Node, Typescript, and React
A product- and user-oriented mindset. You should be willing to speak to clients.
This is especially important for this company because they are effectively building for product teams.
The usual startup personality traits:
Independent and OK working with very little structure
OK with working somewhat above normal hours (but not to an extreme degree)
Strong communication skills
[Preferred]
Previous startup experience
Familiarity with LLMs (and RAG in particular)
Open source contributions
What they're offering
Salary: $140k-190k.
Equity: 0.5-1.5% (typical for this stage of hire)
Stable (plenty of cash on hand, years of runway)
Health/dental/vision insurance
Snacks + gym in the office
Freedom to buy good office equipment and dev tooling
